If you opt for the solution computer (laptop preferred), organize your music into folders according to distinct musical atmosphere and do not neglect to make a backup. You never know! You can use a player to run your classic pieces such as Winamp or Windows Media Player. They both allow to play songs to the queue with simple sequences. You can also download mixing software especially for the occasion. For example DJ Mix Pro is a free (shareware) and French, easy to use, that will automatically generate your mixes like a pro. However make sure you master it before the big day to avoid disaster.
A few weeks before the big day, ask two, three friends if they can be responsible for managing the music during the evening. It is better to retain more so they can perform a rolling turn and enjoy the dance floor. Choose preferably people you trust, who have a sense of animation, and consider them a copy of the songs you selected to become familiar with your playlist.
Fill the evening is a real job, so do not leave anything to chance. Give your friends a copy of the software that will play songs they learn to master it on your fingertips.
Finally, you can also give your DJ a few amateur instructions on what to do if invited to press a particular song, or music to move at different moments of the evening: aperitif, dinner, open Ball, dessert, closing the ball, etc..
